Local Authors Book Night

As the first 100th year Kohl Mansion event, three authors shared their wonderfully written books about Burlingame. Each book was very different, but all had one thing in common; expressing their love and admiration of not only our lovely town, Burlingame, but the Kohl Mansion itself. Karen Hanrahan, the President of Mercy High School was the MC for the night. Each author dynamically described notable events and milestones about the Kohl Mansion in creative and engaging ways. Catherine Wilkinson gave a historical tour while providing insightful facts as well.

The authors who presented were Liz Dossa, Notable Excitement: 30 years of Music at Kohl Mansion; Joanne Garrison, Burlingame Centennial 1908-2008; and Kay Johnson, The Kohl Mansion Kaper. This was the perfect opportunity for guests to meet and mingle with these local women.

Debutantes for a cause debut at Kohl Mansion

On Saturday, February 8, 2014, the Kohl Mansion hosted a memorable event for Mills Pennisula Hospital Foundation. Nine young women made their debut for the Mills-Peninsula Debutante Ball. These nine women were honored for their dedication and hard work within the community by raising money for new advances in technology. The nine debutantes are debutantes with a cause! This celebration truly acknowledged what these incredibly wonderful young women have demonstrated and achieved. Polished and poised, these nine women looked ravishing. The Kohl Mansion was stylishly decorated, updating the black and white room a vibrant with a splash of chartreuse green table clothes and lovely floral designs. Schumann’s Four Seasons Catering provided a decadent and delicious meal.

Fanfare 2014

Fanfare Weddings hosted their winter bridal show at the historic Kohl Mansion on Sunday, January 26. Brides and grooms had an enjoyable afternoon filled with knowledgable vendors from all wedding categories. Winter Wonderland

A holiday party in January?

The Kohl Mansion held an amazing holiday cocktail party for a corporate event, this past Saturday, January 11, 2014. Stunning silver and crisp white transformed the Kohl Mansion into a spectacular Winter Wonderland. Using all rooms on the main level of the mansion, an ice cream and dessert bar, sushi bar, even a casino room provided by California Casino were instant favorites for the company’s employees. Lounge seating provided by Hartmann Studios and whimsical details filled the space. Gorgeous birch trees and stately silver trees were accented by astonishing light by Allegra Entertainment and Events that scattered blues and purples throughout the mansion. A delicious menu was presented by McCalls Catering and guests had plenty of options for fun activities throughout the night including great music from DJ Patrick McMichael.

It is a great idea to consider the Kohl Mansion for future holiday parties. It is an extremely versatile venue for any sort of event. Always elaborately decorated during the holidays, makes it a prime destination for events during the special time of year. Don’t make the holiday season more stressful than it already is between parties, events, family etc, let the Kohl Mansion be a great option to consider for your next holiday or even corporate event!

Pretty Winter Pastels

The Kohl Mansion was glistening with crisp and wintery pastel hues this past Saturday, January 4, 2014. The first wedding of the new year was ravishing. Authentic Korean details gave an instant pop of color that really enhanced the ambiance. Traditional meets modern with this glamourous event. The mansion was breathtaking with two ceremonies, one American and the other Korean, along with a lovely menu from Le Papillon Catering and Bijan Bakery. The photographer was SBJ Photo Creation and the beautiful florals were designed by De Young Florist.

Amazing Aubergine

Kohl Mansion celebrated the marriage of Jessica and Greg on Saturday, Novemeber 9, 2013 with an amazing array of stylish aubergine and chic grey tones. This spectacular day radiated not only the love the couple had for each other, but the magnificent details that contributed to the couples special day. The mansion was glistening with glamourous table tops, not to mention an eye-catching cake baked by Studio Cake in Menlo Park. Flowers were wonderfully designed by Asiel Design located in San Jose. The mouth watering menu was catered by La Boca Fina in the East Bay.

Elegantly Enchanted…

On Saturday, November 16, 2013, Chris and Heather were married at Our Lady of Angels Church in Burlingame, followed by the magnificent reception at our lovely Kohl Mansion.

The Mansion was embellished with impeccable detail. Silver, pewter grey, white, cream and pale pink flowers filled the grand ballroom, making a breathtaking impression. Accompanied with the flawless floral arrangements were the whimsically elegant garlands that created drama and stylish entryways to the candy bar and out to the patio for cocktails. It was an enchanted evening radiated by a full moon, close family and friends that the couple will always remember.

An Outdoor Reception to Remember

Caitlin and Ron were married at Saint Gregory’s Catholic Church in San Mateo on September 15th. The couple chose Kohl Mansion as their reception site, in which they used the courtyard patio for dinner and the indoor Great Hall for dancing. The purple accents of the flowers, the dresses, and even the Limoncello straws created a personal touch to a beautifully crafted wedding.
